Local Government Watch

In this section, NSW deals with issues and progress of decentralized governance system. The section analyses the institutional structure, performance, accountability, level of devolution and governance process. The issues of centrally sponsored schemes and parallel administrative structures is an important part of this section. The state level issues such as regular elections, devolution functions, funds and functionaries (3Fs) and conflicting laws vis-à-vis the powers and functions of the local governing bodies are also analyzed regularly.
